"Higher Education is the key to assuring the future of the United States and its young people, and the key to education is hard work and money."
- Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt

These days there's a lot of talk about investing in people. At Telephone Workers' Credit Union, we're doing more than just talking. Each year, we are pleased to support our members with ten $1,500 scholarships.

Scholarships awarded include:
  • Thomas B. Norton Scholarship,
  • Arthur T. Howell Scholarship,
  • Michael J. McCarthy Scholarship,
  • Francis Sylvester Scholarship, and
  • Six Directors' Scholarships.

Who's Eligible? All TWCU members who are full-time students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate college/university or vocational-technical program. Applicants must be members of the credit union.

The winners are drawn lottery-style at the TWCU annual meeting each spring. All payments will be made to the students after verification of attendance from their schools. Entry forms are also included in the Spring issue of our quarterly newsletter, the Beacon, and are available through the Member Services Department.

Annual Children's Book Drive
Every April, TWCU participates in a children's book drive sponsored by the Massachusetts Credit Union League and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. Since 2001, almost 130,000 books have been collected and distributed to non-profit agencies in cities and communities throughout the state.

Christmas in the City
Every year, TWCU teams up with Members Mortgage and other Boston Area Credit Unions to help make the holidays memorable for homeless children. Christmas in the City is a 100% volunteer-run, non-profit organization that not only helps the homeless enjoy the holiday season, but also supports and mentors Boston's homeless families to make the transition to independent living.  Christmas in the City
