Why Liberty Bay?
Personal liberty and freedom have always been a cornerstone of the American dream and an especially important ideal embraced by the people of greater Boston. And there is no better representation of personal financial freedom and opportunity than that provided through credit union membership.
For this reason, and for the accompanying historical significance that the word liberty has played in Boston’s sustained history, the name liberty was chosen to represent our great region’s heritage and the strong roots that our founding New England Telephone workers established in 1917.
The Boston Harbor, our vibrant bay encircling our accomplished city, was the inspiration for the latter part of our new name.
Why our new logo?
It is no coincidence that the logo chosen to represent the new Liberty Bay Credit Union is also a visual representation of the credit union’s long-standing educational and informational newsletter, Beacon, which for many years has provided our membership with trusted knowledge and direction. But more importantly, the glowing beacon central to the new icon illustrates Liberty Bay Credit Union’s continued ability to help our members navigate their way through their finances and various stages of life.
